Excel automatically inserts the graph, but it has no labels. Review the new green "Chart Tools" tab and ribbon at the top of the screen. If you don't see them, click the chart to enable them.

Right now, the line chart doesn’t display the Emphasis series — the value $1,800,000 — as a vertical bar. It’s a round marker. The blue marker is there, but you can’t see it.

In PowerPoint, click on the "Design" tab from the Chart Tools and click "Select Data." Click "Add" and click and drag on the Excel spreadsheet to choose the data for the new line.

Data range: Adjust the cell range for the chart by adding to it or removing from it. X- or y-axis: Depending on your graph type, you can display, remove, or add labels to the x- or y-axis.
