An incidental discovery over at Android Police revealed that the Samsung S24 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 5 possess a virtual composite sensor described as “Car Crash Detect Wakeup”.

But there’s a chance that could change in the future. According to Android Police, both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 have a “Car Crash Detect Wakeup” sensor.

The Google support page used to state that car crash detection is available on the Pixel 3 and later. However, the page has been updated to say that it’s only for the Pixel 4a or later.
