The Cascading Bridge design pattern describes how you can implement classes for dealing with the API variability. A portion of a program you’ve developed monitors changes to a file.

This design pattern is rather similar to Polymorphism, which I described first. In fact, just like before, we’ll use Python’s abstract-base class library to implement it.
