Excel as a database - MSNExcel doesn’t offer true tables, which are often ideal for complex data structures with interconnected entities. At times, you will often end up duplicating data across different spreadsheets.
Excel is structured in a way that makes it easily compatible with databases. At the very least, a database is simply a collection of items which are connected, according to PC World.
Excel’s Data Model creates a relationship between two (or more) sets of data using a common field. In this case, the common field is Shelf Code, as shown in Figure A.
