Whether you have a requirement to use double-spacing or simply prefer it, you can format your document easily. Here’s how to double-space in Google Docs.

Select Line & paragraph spacing. Click Double. Besides single, 1.15, 1.5, and double spacing, Google Docs also lets you set custom parameters for your line spacing using the Custom spacing button.

To make columns in Google Docs, click Format > Columns. You can choose between two or three columns. You can also adjust the space between your columns and add a line in between your columns.
