Burmese Python SOUTH CAROLINA, S.C. (WCIV) — The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is encouraging people to be more responsible when it comes to keeping exotic animals as pets.

They have no natural predators in the Everglades and can reproduce quickly. Females may lay up to 100 eggs a year. During last year’s challenge, hunters removed 232 pythons from the wetlands.
