This will open a tab in the background and you won't have to deal with it right away. You can also do this with bookmarks and bookmark folders that are sitting in your toolbar.

Launch Mozilla Firefox and navigate to the Web page that contains the links you want to open in new tabs. Hold down "Ctrl" and click a link to open it in a new tab.
