Infosys recently issued around 600 placement offer letters to engineering students in and around the Dharwad district, as part of its effort to ramp up operations at the Hubballi development centre.
Infosys will also partner with the North Carolina community college system to create a workforce training program, which the state has contributed a $3 million grant towards.
The company, which opened an office in Providence last year, said it’s committing to bringing more than 1,000 total tech jobs to Rhode Island by 2023.
Infosys did not respond to an email seeking comment on how many people it planned to hire. Sources, however, said the upcoming recruitment was part of the company’s annual lateral hiring programme.
