Method one is to click the fx button on the top left of the Excel worksheet. The fx (function wizard) button opens all the functions in Excel. An Insert Function dialog box will appear.

Another function, COUNT (), counts the cells in its range that contain numbers. Many of Excel's statistical functions also calculate the aggregate value of a range of cells.
