This exploit is also purportedly tied to the mods EnderCore, LogisticsPipes, 1.7-1.12 version of BDLib, Smart Moving 1.12, Brazier, DankNull, and Gadomancy. However, this is not the end of the story.

The exploit is currently known to affect versions 1.7.10 and 1.12.2 of the mod management system Forge, thanks to a security gap in the Java code it consists of.

The exploit carries the “Log4Shell” moniker, as it’s an unauthenticated RCE vulnerability that allows for total system takeover. There’s already a proof-of-concept exploit online.
