A non-profit and a new startup partner come up with what they say could be the solution to the world's housing shortage: 3D printed homes. This is their debut product.

Many 3D printed family homes — including Icon's previous builds — are single-story, with the only printed components being its walls. The rest of the house has to be built traditionally.

3D printing company ICON opened its first model home for the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG)–designed single family development as part of Wolf Ranch in Georgetown, Texas this past weekend.
