JetBrains has split the latest edition of its PyCharm Python IDE (integrated development environment) into two editions -- the paid professional edition and a new free community edition.

The Positron IDE is available in public beta as of today for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Created by Boston-based Posit PBC, formerly RStudio, Positron is based on Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code.

JetBrains delivers a new integrated development environment for Python, Django and Google App Engine developers, known as PyCharm 1.0.
