An unusual find in downtown Baltimore. A live python is spotted on the Inner Harbor water wheel, but where it came from and how it got there is still a mystery.
A python was found Wednesday in the Inner Harbor water wheel.Crews removed the snake and took it to the National Aquarium.The water wheel, located in the Inner Harbor, collects trash and debris.
General curator Jack Cover says it's an African Ball python, likely 15 to 25 years old. "No doubt, this is an escaped pet," says Cover. {} The snake is about three-feet-long and is a common pet snake.
The snake was removed before 2 p.m. The python was taken "alive and well" to the National Aquarium. No further details have yet been released. There is no word on where the snake may have come from.
