Python’s profiler, cProfile, generates reports that show which functions take up the most time in a given Python program. By default, Cython code doesn’t show up in those reports.

Functions that rely on something outside the function itself (e.g., a network call, or a read from disk) are harder to memoize, though it can still be done.

We agree it is simple, but actually, it isn’t so much Python per se, it is some pretty cool libraries (SciPy, in particular) that do all the hard work.
