Markets Industry Group Aims to Change Bitcoin Symbol to 'Ƀ' The Unicode Ƀ symbol has been chosen by a website of industry members to better legitimize bitcoin in print.

Unicode is launching a fund-raising campaign called "Adopt-a-Character," which allows you to adopt any emoji, letter, number, or symbol on the keyboard. Different characters cost different amounts.

The Unicode Consortium unveiled Unicode version 10.0 today, which includes the bitcoin "B" symbol. Overall, the update includes 8,518 characters, along with 56 new emojis.
