I agree! I think that if you do not like arduino IDE then just move on to avr-gcc. It’s the next logical step to take and opens up a lot more to whomever decides to go down that path.

I’ve been experimenting a bit with the cli of Platformio. Just typed in some “arduino” project: pio init –ide codeblocks … and it adds a project file for codeblocks to the project.

Call this folder anything other than ‘Arduino’ as this is the one name that will cause problems later on. I am not sure about ‘arduino’, but maybe use something else entirely. If you get this wrong, ...
