To change the actual font that the Kindle app uses for displaying text, go to the Advanced tab in Font Changer. Now locate DroidSerif-Regular.ttf, and tap on it.

The good news is that, since it was released as part of the Android 4.0 SDK (Software Developer Kit), you can get Roboto now and install it on your current Android phone or tablet.
