In prior Java 101 articles, I referred to the concepts of redirection, standard input device, and standard output device. To demonstrate inputting data, several examples called System.in.read().

In pseudocode, INPUT asks a question. OUTPUT prints a message on screen. A simple program could be created to ask someone their name and age, and to make a comment based on these.
