May 18, 2014 · The BCD store is kept in the System partition, which is Fat32 and does not have a drive letter. The BCD template is in the C:\Windows\Boot. I am going to have to stick with the problem arising because of the multiple Fat32 partitions you have on the system. Try removing the Phone Card and the other drive that contains all the Fat32 partitions.

May 12, 2014 · BCD addresses each partitions using the GUID so if it changed, all BCD reference to the OS drive will be invalidated. To fix this, either a Windows installation disc or "System Repair Disc" is needed.

Jul 16, 2015 · So I think I may have a bigger problem than a corrupted BCD file. I use a dual boot with Xubuntu, and the EFI boot partition shows as fat32 in Gparted. I may also have messed up the bootcat.cache file, but I think it is ok.

Feb 13, 2015 · I've tried following the instructions to delete and recreate the BCD but failed at the first hurdle, there is no boot folder when I typed dir /AHS there are only 5 files and 4 dirs listed The files are, bootmgr, bootnxt, hiberfil.SYS, pagefile.SYS & swapfile.SYS

Sep 18, 2014 · I tried using Easy BCD to reset my entire bcd, that led me to the point where I had to recover my boot partition. Tried setting msconfig to "Normal startup", it just keeps going back to "Selective startup" with everything checked. So yeah, I have no idea how to solve this, if anyone could help that'd be great.
