If you’re looking to stay purely on the software side, stick with CS. FWIW, I have a computer engineering degree and have stayed purely on the software side of the industry.

If you don't like electronic circuits / digital electronics, then choose Computer Science instead. Otherwise, if you're more on the hardware side of things, choose Electrical Engineering.

They are quite similar though, especially in the first year, they have other modules in common. In the later years, Computer Science is more theoretical whereas Software Engineering involves building software.

On the other, Computer Engineering looks really interesting as well since it integrates hardware into the curriculum.

Aug 15, 2017 · Entered as EE, finished as a dual with computer engineer, computer science. Im definitely glad with that decisions, spent 6 years in embedded, and now a more traditional software role. I was much happier on the software side than hardware, but its different for everyone. Of course, a comp engineering degree doesn't rule out hardware at all, either.
