In any case, the SMART data is zeroed out so you don't really know. That said, the 5700rpm ones on eBay have been verified as WD REDs (they support CCTL/TLER). Oct 31, 2023 · I got an NVME SSD for my computer, but whenever I have it installed my hard drive light on my case remains solid at all times. If I remove the NVME it fixes the issue. Are NVME drives supposed to keep your hard drive light from blinking, or is my my SSD a lemon?

According to this review on best buy that was promoted/free/incentive review, the drive is an Exos inside, so should be solid even though there's only a 1yr warranty on the usb. Don't know if shucking the drive and doing a warranty on the drive itself would work and yield you a longer warranty like the 3yr/5yr that people have done ...
